I have a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. I also have some graduate work in Speech Pathology. I graduated magna cum laude and was accepted into both Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Theta Kappa. I also graduated with honors with an Associates degree in Elementary Education prior to obtaining my Bachelor's degree.
Experience
I have spent time teaching in both the public and private sectors and have taught in grades K-12. I also have experience teaching ESL and French in the private sector. My specialties are in English and reading, with an as well as mathematics. I have worked extensively with students with learning disabilities. I also have tutored students who needed a little assistance in getting into a university and with helping them formulate and write their college essays, as well as being prepared for the SAT, ACT, and college entrance exams. My main love is English and mathematics for middle school students. I love watching as their eyes glow when they grasp a concept that was previously lost to them. One of my favorite memories was when a parent called me shocked that her son was now reading when before he had refused to even pick up a book. I love it when a student becomes passionate about learning.

Hobbies
In my spare time I love writing poetry, stories, and songs. I play guitar and sing. I also love to draw and paint. My husband thinks I am a tad bit crazy because I will do algebra problems for fun. I love the mystery of math and the joy of figuring out answers hidden inside of problems. I also spend a good amount of time reading. Learning is a lifelong adventure.
